So let’s begin!
Common Cake Cutting Song Questions
What is a good cake cutting song?
In my opinion, a good cake cutting song is one that is lighthearted and expresses the couples’ personal tastes in music.
It is common for couples to skip over choosing a cake cutting song, but I think it’s a good idea to put some thought into it.
How do you introduce the cake cutting at a wedding?
As a DJ, I try to keep the announcing of the cake cutting light as well.
There are often funny moments such as the classic “cake in the face” move, so the announcement should also match this tone of fun, love and happiness.
When should you cut the cake?
The most common time to cut the wedding cake is right after the Grand Entrance.
There are a few reasons for this:
The banquet hall wants to cut the cake and prepare it for serving as early as possible.
Another reason is there is the risk of a guest knocking over the cake.
With that said, the banquet venue wants to move it out of harms way as soon as they can.
What does cutting the cake at a wedding mean?
The symbolism of the cake cutting ceremony is it’s the first formal task completed together as a couple.
This is another reason I think it’s nice to have the cake cutting early on during the reception. This special moment simply makes everyone happy and sets the mood for a fun evening of celebration.
Do you have to cut the cake at your wedding?
Absolutely not.
It’s up to the newly married couple to decide what events they want to incorporate into their wedding.
I always say to my clients: It’s YOUR Big Day! You can “slice it” any way that you’d like. Pun intended!

Hello! My name is Tony Coppola and I’d like to take this time to tell you a little bit about myself and CC King Entertainment.
I began my musical journey when I was 12 years old as a singer and drummer.
Ten years ago, I built a home recording studio and named it CC King Studio. Shortly after, I DJ’d my first wedding and CC King Entertainment was born!
Furthermore, after DJing hundreds of weddings, my business allowed me to leave my 16-year career as an occupational therapist.
In addition, I ALWAYS go the extra mile to personalize my wedding services and have the honor to work with an amazing team of wedding DJs.
